Our Chengdu tour guide will meet you at your hotel at 8 in the morning, drive to Du Fu thatched cottage which is situated in the west suburbs of the city. Du Fu thatched cottage is the old residence for Du Fu who was one of the most famous poets in Tang Dynasty. Du Fu was exiled to Chengdu and had lived his artistic heyday there for 2 years and 4 months. There're thousands of poems he had composed. After years' renovation and maintenance, Du Fu thatched cottage has finally reached its present scale. We can visit three main parts of Du Fu thatched cottage: Lobby, Hall of Historical Poetry, Gongbu Shrine, and the emblematic Shoaling Stone Monument and Flower lane. The sight-seeing duration is about 2 hours
After lunch, you will take about 15 minutes to drive to the sacred shrine of Wuhou Temple which was built during the Three Kingdom period in memorial of Shu Emperor Liu Bei and the Prime Minister Zhuge Liang. It takes 1.5 hours to go through all the scenic spots such as the Front Gate, Second Gate,Liu Bei Hall, huge Liang Hall, Tomb of Liu Bei.
After Wuhou Temple sight-seeing, have a relaxing stroll in the ancient cultural street of Jin li to fully appreciate the architecture style of Ming and Qing Dynasty. You can enjoy Sichuan flavor snacks while admiring the traditional Sichuan handicrafts. The pleasant amble lasts for 30 minutes. Then drive back to hotel. (L)
