Day 1 Arrive Beijing (/)
Airport pick up and transfer to hotel in Beijing
Day 2 Beijing Great Wall and Dingling Tour (B, L)
Pick up from your hotel in the morning and then drive to the Ming Tombs (Dingling), which is the underground mausoleum of Emperor Wan Li. The Underground Palace Halls, a labyrinth palace building, were the first royal tomb excavated in accordance with plan in China. Sightsee on Ming Tombs for 2 hour. And then follow a short visit of Jade Carving Factory before lunch.
After having lunch, then drive to Mutianyu Great Wall. Mutianyu Great Wall is known for its beautiful surroundings - dense woods and rich pastures changing colors with the seasons of a year. Mutianyu Great Wall is located in Huai Rou County on the north-east of Beijing. This section of the Great Wall is about 75 KM from the center of Beijing. As one of the best-preserved parts of the Great Wall, Mutianyu section of Great Wall used to serve as the northern barrier defending the capital and the imperial tombs.
You are returned to the downtown Beijing and We will drive by exterior the National Stadium - the "Bird's Nest" and National Aquatics Center - the Water Cube. You will have chance to take pictures. you are arranged to relax yourself by drinking the famous Chinese tea and enjoying Chinese tea ceremony in a well-know Chinese tea market.
After the whole day tour, you are transferred back to your hotel.
Day 3 Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and Summer Palace (B, L)
Pick you up from hotel in the morning and drive to the famous Tiananmen Square - The biggest downtown Square of the world. Stroll around the square. From the north end of Tiananmen Square, we will enter the Forbidden City -also called Palace Museum, is located at the center of Beijing. It was the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Rectangular in shape, Forbidden City is the world's largest palace complex.
After lunch, drive 30 minutes to Summer Palace - 20 kilometers northwest of downtown Beijing. Summer Palace is the largest imperial garden of Ming and Qing dynasty. The whole Summer Palace covers an area of over 290 hectares including more than 3,000 buildings, such as halls, pavilions, towers, etc. Take sightseeing in the beautiful garden for about one hour.
Visit a Chinese fresh water pearl shop near Summer Palace to do some shopping. It is a place to buy a necklace or bracelet. It will be a very good a gift from China. You will see all kinds of Chinese fresh water pearl here. We will transfer you back to your hotel after the whole day tour.
Day 4 Beijing Hutong Tour, Temple of Heaven (B, L)
Then you will be arranged to visit the old Beijing lanes by taking rickshaws. Hutong tour lasts for 2 hours. You will visit the typical Chinese quadrangles, primary school, many famous old buildings, like the bell tower, where you can explore the real life of ordinary people in Beijing.
Today's highlight is the visit of the Temple of Heaven, which was constructed in 1420 AD during the Ming Dynasty as a site for the emperors to offer sacrifices to heaven. Temple of Heaven is actually a park, neat and big. There are a lot of locals, retired people who come here in the morning to hang out with friends and do morning exercises. There was a lot of activity everywhere you looked around. Many people are playing Taichi ball. In the open areas, people also do ribbon dancing, ballroom dancing, playing cards and dominoes. There was music and singing.
After the day tour, you will be transferred to train station.
Day 5 Shanghai Yuyuan Garden, Chenghuang Temple (/)
Pick up at Shanghai train station and transfer to hotel in Shanghai. Today's tour starts from 10 o'clock and the first visit is Shanghai Yu Yuan Garden. Yuyuan is the most famous garden in Shanghai. It is located in the heart of Shanghai's Old City (Shanghai bazaar), one of the few existent old tourist places in Shanghai.
The Chenghuang Temple is a Taoist temple, also called Yi Temple, which is composed of many halls. It has an area of more than 10,000 square meters including two gardens. The Chenghuang Temple has a great influence on the residents of Shanghai. The religious festivals of the temple are considered the festivals of all Shanghai people.
The Bund (Waitan) is one of the most noted architectural symbols of Shanghai. The word "Bund" derives from an Anglo-Indian word for an embankment along a muddy waterfront. The Bund in Shanghai was first used when the first British company opened a office there in 1846. The Bund, or the waterfront, is now surrounded by about 50 various buildings of different architectural styles including Gothic, Baroque, Romanesque, Classicism and the Renaissance along from No.1 to No.33, west of No.1 East Zhong Shan Road. Then you will take Huangpu River Cruise which is one of the best ways to see both old and new Shanghai.
End of the day tour and transferred back to your hotel in Shanghai.
Day 6 Shanghai Expo 2010 Tour (B)
Travel to Shanghai for the world's largest Expo, discover and experience more about urban life in 21st century and expect a better life in the future. Spend 1 days getting intoxicated in the great event.
Day 7 Shanghai Tour Jade Buddha Temple, Oriental Pearl TV, Confucian Temple, Xintiandi (B, L)
Jade Buddha Temple Built between 1911 and 1918, yet the old-time and classical architectural style makes the temple unique and elegant. The Jade Buddha Temple is one of the most famous Buddhist temples to be found in Shanghai and one of Shanghai's top tourist destinations. The conspicuous attractions in the Jade Buddha Temple are white jade Buddha scattered with the whole halls, and the leading one of which is a 1.9-meter-high sitting Buddha encrusted with jewels and said to weighs 1,000 kg.
Oriental Pearl TV Tower with an astonishing height of 468 meters, ranks as the world's third tallest TV tower, after the 553-meter CN Tower in Toronto and the 535-meter Moscow TV Tower. It is a symbolic architecture and a popular sightseeing for tourists in Shanghai. It has three observatory levels, of which the highest one is at 350 m. The sightseeing platform offers a splendid unparalleled view of this historic city.
