Day 2 Beijing City Tour (B, L)
Visit Badaling
Great Wall in the morning, Changping Mosque, and a jade factory.
Pick up from your hotel in the morning, first drive to the Badaling Great Wall, the Badaling Great Wall, an ancient military defense project, about 3, 740 meters long and averagely 8 meters high.
After Muslim lunch, visit Chang Ping Mosque (Everlasting Peace Mosque). This is a 700 year old Mosque hidden in an small enclave of Mongolian descendant Chinese community. One has to walk pass small stores such as fruits and vegetable shops, barber shop, convenience store, etc. to reach the Mosque. 32 year old Osman Mah is the community leader and Imam of this Mosque. This mosque was relatively well kept and maintained than the Haidin Mosque in the Beijing city precincts. Though the eternal peace (InshaAllah) will only be in Jannah but the Chang Ping Mosque does let one experience a worldly sample. The Chang Ping Mosque has quite a sprawling campus. Over 20 rooms surround the Mosque. These are used for Islamic school which was closed for summer when we visited. Some rooms are rented out and others are used by the Imam and the Custodian. There is a very nice store that sells traditional Kufis, ceramics and other gift items. Most of us shopped to our heart in that store. And admirably, no one from our group tried bargaining with the store lady as we all knew that the shop supports the Masjid.
Shopping in the Jade Factory: China is world famous about Jade. They have evolved a whole industry around this. Legends and myths are created to sanctify the Jade in Chinese society. Jade has a solution for sickness, good luck, poverty and everything in between. The Jade Factory campus also has a big restaurant for the customers. Within the restaurant, there was an all exclusive Muslim section.
After the whole day tour, you are transferred back to your hotel.
Day 3 Beijing City Tour (B, L)
Visit
Tian An Men Square,
Forbidden City,
OX street Mosque and Wangfujing Street
Pick up from your hotel in the morning, first visit Tiananmen Square, the largest public square of this kind in the world. And then move on to Forbidden City, the largest and best-preserved palatial complex still existing, also known as the Palace Museum.
After Muslim lunch, visit Niujie, or Ox Street Mosque. The mosque is a blend of Islamic and Chinese cultures. Its exterior shows the Chinese influence while the interior decoration is full of Islamic flavors. It was first built in 996 during the Song Dynasty (960-1279). Later in 1442, the mosque was rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty and expanded in 1696 under the Qing Dynasty.
Finally visit Wangfujing Sreet which is a 700-year-old commercial street. It hasmaintained its position as the number one choice for shoppers since the mid-1980s. The Wangfujing Department Store has long been acknowledged as the largest, most fashionable, and best known shopping center in Beijing.
After the whole day tour, you are transferred back to your hotel.
Day 4 Beijing City Tour Visit Madian Mosque,
Summer Palace, Olympic Stadium and Peal Jewelry Shop (B, L)
Pick up from your hotel in the morning, first visit Madian Mosque which is located in the west of Madian Street in Haidian District. According to the stone tablets carved in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) in the mosque, it was built during the rein of Emperor Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1662-1722). On both the left and right sides of the mosque, there was side doors, which have become second gates now, with the front door built later. The prayer hall is inside the second door with quite high ground. The prayer hall can be arrived after 9 steps of stair. Madian Mosque can hold about 500-people for prayers. And then move to the Summer Palace, a former royal garden. It was first built in 1751, but was destroyed by European troops in 1860 and again in 1900. The Empress Dowager restored the park's buildings in 1902. Later in 1924, the park was turned into a public park.
After Muslim lunch, visit Olympic Stadium, also known as Bird's Nest, is a new architectural wonder of China and the main venue for the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as track-and-field events of 2008 Beijing Olympics. The design grew from brainstorming sessions between the Chinese artist Ai Weiwei and the Swiss architectural firm Herzog and deMeuron.
Visit in the Peal Jewelry Shop.
After the whole day tour, you are transferred back to your hotel.
Day 5 Beijing City Tour (B, L)
Hutong Tour,
Temple of Heaven, Chinese medicine pharmacy ( L ), transfer to the railway station
Pick from your hotel in the morning; take the Hutong tour lasts for 2 hours. With the help of your English speaking tour guide of the courtyard, you will have a detailed explanation of the old courtyard - its history, its layout, its Fengshui, and its traditional Chinese culture involved.
After Muslim lunch, visit Temple of Heaven, where dynastic rulers in China used to worship the heaven.
And then to visit Chinese medicine pharmacy
After the day tour, you will be transferred to the railway station to Shanghai.
Day 6 Shanghai City Tour (/)
Pick up from the railway station from and transfer to the hotel in
Shanghai, then visit the Pudong new city area,
TV tower,
Nanjing Road and
the BundWhichever nickname you prefer, "Paris of the Orient" or "Pearl of China", Shanghai is the largest and most prosperous city in China. Shanghai is one of the most important economic, financial and cultural centers in all of Asia.
Pick up from the railway station from and transfer to the hotel in Shanghai, then visit the Pudong new city area which is an important transport hub of Shanghai. The advanced international logistics port, airport transport, railway and rail transport and inter-city expressway have jointly formed a system of water, land and air transportation. The good transport facilities provide convenient and easy transport for citizens and foreigners alike.
And then visit the Oriental TV Tower, the unmistakable symbol of modern Shanghai. Standing in Pudong Park in the new and developing Lujiazui District, it overlooks the industry and commerce quickly developing on the banks of the Huangpu River. You will enjoy a panoramic view of Shanghai from the main observatory and have the opportunity to orient yourself to the thriving metropolis you are about to discover.
A cruise on Huang River gives you another way to see the Bund, the cultural district along the river. From this floating vantage point, you will see 80-100 year old buildings with diverse architectural styles: Gothic, Baroque, and Romanesque. After a photo stop at People's Square, the picturesque green space surrounded by buildings on all sides, you visit the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall. Here you will see the vision for the new Shanghai, complete with exhibits and an impressive scale model of the city planned for the future.
Your final stop is Nanjing Road, the first commercial street in Shanghai. It is pedestrian friendly, with no cars allowed, and is the popular shopping center of the city. It is always bustling with excitement, with locals, business people and tourists alike. You will likely want to return in the evening to get a taste of Shanghai nightlife.
End of the day tour and transferred back to your hotel in Shanghai.
Day 7 Shanghai Tour (B, L)
Visit
Yuyuan Garden, the old street,
Jade Buddha Temple,
Xintiandi and People's Square.
Pick from your hotel in the morning, visiting classic sights from the Ming and Qing dynasties, when you visit the enchanting Yuyuan Garden and Shanghai Old Street. The garden covers a significant space and includes many halls, springs and other buildings of interest. The visit brings you back to Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1368-1644).
And then move to Jade Buddha Temple. It was built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty (A.D. 1875-1909) with its priceless collection of jade statues from Burma. The construction of the temple is in the magnificent architectural style of the Song Dynasty. There are monks currently living in the Temple and the Temple houses the Shanghai Buddhist Institute.
After Muslim lunch, visit People Square which is a spectacular space in the heart of the city. It is a vast green area including plants and trees, and surrounded by great buildings on all sides, where you may feed the lovely doves to pray for the world peace.
Finally, you'll be able to stretch your legs in Shanghai's hottest new entertainment district, Xin Tian Di. The brick buildings on these two-square blocks have been preserved and transformed into trendy clubs, restaurants and boutiques. You will have time on your own here.
End of the day tour and transferred back to your hotel in Shanghai.
Day 8 Depart Shanghai (B)
Transfer to the airport for next destination.
