Day 1: YiChang/Yangtze River Cruise (/)
The guide will pick you up at
Yichang airport. You will board your deluxe cruise ship:Yangtze (4 stars) or President No.1 (5 star) for
the Three Gorges river journey.
Day 2: Yangtze River Cruise (B, L, D)
This morning you arrive Yang Jia Wang and visit
the Three Gorges Dam site, a controversial, immense construction project that is the largest hydroelectric and flood-control dam in the world. Sail through the Three Gorges ship locks and the third gorge
Xiling, enjoy the natural scenery at leisure.
Day 3: Yangtze River Cruise (B, L, D)
In the morning disembark for your boat excursion down the crystal-clear
Shennong Stream or the Daning River, depending on local conditions. Re-board your ship and continue throuth the passage, head upstream through the second and first of the three gorges -
Wuxia, known for its quiet beauty and forest-covered mountains. and
Qutang Gorge, the shortest but most dramatic gorge, You can nearly touch the perpendicular walls rising from the riverbanks as your captain negotiates this narrow gap.
Day 4: Yangtze River Cruise (B, L, D)
Depending on river conditions, one of the following shore excursions will be offered: Wanxian, "Gateway to Eastern Chongqing City," tucked in between rolling mountains;
Shibaozhai, with its 400-year-old, twelve story red wooden pagoda high on a cliff side; or
Fengdu, China's "Ghost City", where you will see ghost- and devil-like statues at numerous temples.
Day 5 Yangtze River Cruise/Chongqing -- Xian (B)
In the morning your ship arrive
Chongqing. Nicknamed the "mountain city," Chongqing is renowned for its unique scenic spots, especially the parks, and many places of historical and culture interest. Transfer to the airport to take flight to Xian. Stay in Xian.
Day 6 Xian (B, L)
Pick up from your hotel in Xian. First visit
the BanPo Museum. It is recorded that about 6000 years ago, a village was set up by a late Neolithic people. Visitors can still see the remains of over 40 houses, over 200 cellars, 6 kilns.
Then move on to
Qinling Underground Palace Exhibition Hall. The exhibition hall is built aimed at imitating the real underground palace and giving visitors a vivid picture of what is like in the tomb.
At last you will visit
the Museum of the First Qin Emperor's Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses. The Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses are the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century. You will visit the world-famous museum that is constructed on the site of its findings. Stay in Xian.
Day 7 Xian (B, L)
This morning you will visit the
Big Wild Goose Pagoda in downtown Xian. The Big Goose Pagoda is one of the oldest Buddhistic buildings in China. Originally Big Goose Pagoda consisted of a brick structure of five storeys and was about 60 meters high. The Big Wild Goose Pagoda was a seven-story tower, 64.5 meters-high.
After visiting the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, continue to visit the
Ancient City wall in Xian. Then come to the downtown to visit
the Bell Tower or Drum Tower in downtown Xian. Stay in Xian.
Day 8 Depart Xian (B)
Transfer to the airport and end the 8 Days Yangtze River Cruise and Xian Tour.
