Day 1: YiChang/Yangtze River Cruise (/)
The guide will pick you up at
Yichang airport. You will board your deluxe cruise ship:Yangtze (4 stars) or President No.1 (5 star) for
the Three Gorges river journey.
Day 2: Yangtze River Cruise (B, L, D)
This morning you arrive Yang Jia Wang and visit
the Three Gorges Dam site, a controversial, immense construction project that is the largest hydroelectric and flood-control dam in the world. Sail through the Three Gorges ship locks and the third gorge
Xiling, enjoy the natural scenery at leisure.
Day 3: Yangtze River Cruise (B, L, D)
In the morning disembark for your boat excursion down the crystal-clear
Shennong Stream or the Daning River, depending on local conditions. Re-board your ship and continue throuth the passage, head upstream through the second and first of the three gorges -
Wuxia, known for its quiet beauty and forest-covered mountains. and
Qutang Gorge, the shortest but most dramatic gorge, You can nearly touch the perpendicular walls rising from the riverbanks as your captain negotiates this narrow gap.
Day 4: Yangtze River Cruise (B, L, D)
Depending on river conditions, one of the following shore excursions will be offered: Wanxian, "Gateway to Eastern Chongqing City," tucked in between rolling mountains;
Shibaozhai, with its 400-year-old, twelve story red wooden pagoda high on a cliff side; or
Fengdu, China's "Ghost City", where you will see ghost- and devil-like statues at numerous temples.
Day 5 Yangtze River Cruise/Chongqing -- Beijing (B)
In the morning your ship arrive
Chongqing. Nicknamed the "mountain city," Chongqing is renowned for its unique scenic spots, especially the parks, and many places of historical and culture interest. Transfer to the airport to take flight to Beijing. Stay in Beijing.
Day 6 Beijing (B, L)
Our guide and driver will pick you up after breakfast. Today's Beijing tour starts with the visit of the
Tiananmen Square. It is a very important place for celebrations in traditional Chinese festivals and important days with cultural and political significance. It is the largest square in the world. It will take about half hour to go around it.
Tiananmen Square got its name from the Tiananmen Gate, which means Gate of Heavenly Peace. From Tiananmen Gate you will walk and directly enter into the
Forbidden City. It was a vast complex of building groups which make up the former residence of the ancient emperors. It is the largest and the best preserved ancient imperial residence in China today, and it is now open to public as Palace Museum. Forbidden City is a Must-see attraction of Beijing tour. It is listed by UNESCO as the largest collection of preserved ancient wooden structures in the world.
After lunch, visit
Temple of Heaven, the largest ancient imperial worship architecture group in the world. It is a worship altar where Emperors prayed for peace and harvest. It is also listed as the World Cultural Heritage Site. The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest is a magnificent triple-gabled circular building with 38 meters in height and 30 meters in diameter, stands on a round foundation built with three levels of marble stones.
Day 7 Beijing (B, L)
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and go to visit the most representative part of China Great Wall, Badaling
Great Wall--- the most famous and the best-preserved wall in China. Have traditional Chinese lunch at Longdi restaurant. After lunch, have a short visit of Jade Carving Factory while having a rest. Move on to the
Ming tombs--- Changling, the best-preserved Chinese imperial tombs with 500 years history. In the evening enjoy
Peking Duck Dinner (Optional item, price exclude). Stay in Beijing.
Day 8 Depart Beijing (B)
Transfer to the airport and end the 8 Days Yangtze River Cruise and Beijing Tour.
