Day 1 Chongqing (/)
Arrive in
Chongqing, the mountain city. You will be met by you local guide and transferred to
the Yangtze River Cruiser. The 4 days Yangtze River Cruise Chongqing to Yichang tour is beginning.
Day 2 Yangtze River Cruise (B, L, D)
Have an early get-up to enjoy a spectacular journey on the mighty Yangtze River. After lunch, you will disembark at the ancient
Fengdu and enjoy a visit to the legendary city of ghost. Before return to the cruise for the welcome banquet, you will explore the city of ghost by visiting the local temples.
Day 3 Yangtze River Cruise (B, L, D)
Today's highlight is the cruise through the first of the fabled
Three Gorges:
Qutang Gorge framed by steep mossy cliffs
Wu Gorge, celebrated for its 12 peaks and
Xiling Gorge, the last and most scenic of all the gorges. You will have a memorable experience of the shore excursion of
Shennong Stream with a sampan tour through the treacherous gorges.
Day 4 Yangtze River Cruise / Yichang--Chengdu (B)
Today you will have a stop at Sandouping to view the historic
Three Gorges Dam, the largest hydroelectric project in the world. After the shore excursion of Three Gorges Dam, you will disembark at Yichang in the afternoon. And then transfer to the airport to take flight to
Chengdu. Stay in Chengdu.
Day 5 Chengdu , Leshan & Mt. Emei (B, L)
After breakfast, you will start your trip to
Leshanin the morning. The famous Leshan Giant Buddha is located to the east of Leshan City, Sichuan Province, at the confluence of three rivers, namely, Min River, Qingyi River, and Dadu River. The statue makes itself the most renowned scenic spot in Leshan City. The first visit is to see the largest stone-carved Buddha in the world, then proceed to
Mt. Emei, stay at the foot of Mt. Emei.
Leshan Buddha: first built in 713 A. D. of Tang Dynasty, the largest stone-carved statue of Buddha in the world with a height of 71 meters.
Mt. Emei: Mt. Emei which is towering, beautiful, old and mysterious looks like a huge green screen standing in the southwest of the Chengdu Plain. It is one of the four famous Buddhist Holy mountains in China.
Day 6 Mt. Emei-- Chengdu (B, L)
Visit
Baoguo Temple at the foot, and proceed to go up the mountain, you may see the wild monkeys on the way, and visit
Wannian Temple. Then drive back to Chengdu.
Baoguo Temple: Located at the foot of Mt. Emei, Baoguo Temple is the largest temple on the mountain. This temple is normally the starting point for tours up the mountain. Build during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), Baoguo Temple is home to the Mt. Emei Buddhist Society. The entire temple complex is built in a typical courtyard home style and covers an area of over 10 acres. Each courtyard has its own individual style, and the views of Mt. Emei change as visitors travel deeper into Baoguo Temple.
Wannian Temple: Built during the Eastern Jin Dynasty (317-420), Wannian Temple contains five halls in a tiered style. One highlight of this temple is a bronze statue of Puxian riding an elephant which was cast during the Song Dynasty (960-1279). The statue which was built in Chengdu is over 7 meters high and weighs over 62 tons and is of supurb craftsmanship. It is amazing to think how such a large and heavy statue was transported using simple tools and how it was done remains a mystery. Outside Wannian temple is a cablecar which can take tourists up to the Golden Summit.
Day 7 Depart Chengdu (B)
Drive to see lovely giant pandas at
Panda Breeding Center, and then transfer to airport and fly to next destination.
Panda Breeding Center: First opened in 1987, a semi-wild area where those lovely China's ambassadors can be allowed to freely roam.
