Day 1 Arrive Beijing
On arrival in Beijing, you will be met at the exit of the at the arrival hall of Beijing Airport by our tour guide with a sign with your name. and transferred to your hotel. Free for rest of the day for you to rest, relax and recover from the jetlag, or you can explore the streets and the local people's life around your hotel by yourself.
Day 2 Beijing Tour (B, L, D)
Today's tour starts with the visit of the Tiananmen Square--- the largest square in the world. Tian'anmen Square is the largest city center square at the center of Beijing. It got its name becaue of the Tiananmen, which means Gate of Heavenly Peace. It will take about half hour to go around it. After that you will walk directly into the Forbidden City, it is a World Heritage Site listed by UNESCO. Forbidden City is the largest and the best preserved ancient imperial palace in China. It is now called the Palace Museum and open to public.
After lunch, you will proceed to visit the Temple of Heaven, also known as Tiantan. It is an Rayal Sacrificial Altar in Beijing and the largest ancient imperial worship architecture group in the world. The Temple of Heaven is a Taoist temple and it is also a World Heritage Site listed by UNESCO. In the course of the tour have a chance to enjoy the Chinese traditional Silk arts. In the evening enjoy Chinese Kungfu show.
Day 3 Beijing Tour (B, L, D)
After breakfast you will go to visit Badaling Great Wall. The Great Wall is regarded as one of the ancient wonders of the world. And Badaling Great Wall is the most famous and the best-preserved wall in China. Badaling Great Wall is the ancient military defence project to protect Beijing City on the north side.
After lunch, you will move on to the Ming tombs, the mausoleums of 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty. It is the best-preserved Chinese imperial tombs with 500 years history. The Sacred Way is the avenue in the middle of the tomb area. You will enter the tomb area through the Sacred Way with 36 stone sculptures on both sides, of which 24 are stone animals and 12 human figures. The tombs area is so vast that tourists only visit two of the 13 tombs, Chang Ling and Ding Ling.
You will enjoy Peking Duck dinner before going back to your hotel.
Day 4 Beijing Tour (B, L, D)
Visit the Summer Palace--- the best-preserved imperial garden in the world that boasts centralized architectural masterpieces as well as scenic beauties. It is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites in Beijing. The Summer Palace is the most beautiful park in Beijing. It is a big park and you need spend about half a day there. There's so much to see and enjoy in the Summer Palace, including buildings and waterways. You will enjoy lunch at a local Chinese restaurant.
After lunch, drive to Shichahai area and visit Beijing Hutong by rickshaw. Shichahai is a famous scenic area in Beijing with three lakes surrounding and a lot remnants of old-style Beijing residences, Hutong and Courtyard. It is an area with lots of historic and scenic spot there. Shichahai rickshaw Hutong tour is a very unique experience to enjoy the leisure time in Beijing.
Day 5 Transferred to the airport and fly to Lhasa
You will be transferred to the airport and fly to Lhasa after breakfast. Our tour guide will wait for you at Lhasa airport and then transfer you to your hotel in Lhasa. Upon arrival, take rest for altitude acclimatization.
Day 6: Visit Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Market Street and Potola Palace(B)
After breakfast, you will visit the world's highest of the ancient castle architecture the Potala Palace, which was built in the seventh century AD, from the Dalai Lama of Tibet has been a political and religious center, a collection of real physical store and the Dalai Lama's gold pagoda and a large number of valuable paintings, Thangka, Buddha, is a concentrated expression of Tibetan culture. The Potala Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and regarded as - the "pearl of the plateau."
In the afternoon you will visit the Tubo Dynasty built - Jokhang Temple. Jokhang Temple is a Tibetan Buddhism's most sacred temple. It is one of the holiest temple in all of Tibet. You can see a peace treaty signed with China carved on columns at the entrance.
Then you will stroll on Lhasa most ancient street, Barkhor Market Street. The street encircles the famous Jokhang Monastery in Lhasa. It is the most famous Tibet's largest market street. The commodities for sale here mainly local Tibetan culture and artifacts. handicraft and the native products. Barkhor Street is usually regarded as "Window of Tibet" for its shopping and reflection of daily life of local residents.
Day 7: Visit Sera monastery, Drepung Monastery (B)
In the morning, start your explorations by visiting Sera monastery: Sera Monastery, founded in 1419, is one of the 'great three' university monasteries of Tibet, to witness the "Monk Debates" on the teachings of Buddha and the philosophy of Buddhism. Then, in the afternoon, after lunch, you can visit Drepung Monastery. This monastery, located at the foot of Mount Gephel, is another of the "great three" Gelukpa university monasteries of Tibet.. After returning in the afternoon or early evening, stay in Lhasa city.
Day 8Visit Yamdrotso lake/Gyangtse/ Shigatse(B)
Passing by the green farmland of Nyangchu Valley, Yamdro-tso lakes, karo-la glacier roadside at 4960m, We move westwards to the second biggest city Shigatse, the Area spiritually hosted by Pamchan Lama.
The most important attraction for today is Yamdro-tso Lake and Kubum monastery in Gyantse. From the top of the pass kangpa-la at 4700m high in clear weather, you can see the fabulous shade of deep turquoise, Yamdro-tso Lake is shaped like coiling scorpion with deep blue in colour. Kubum monastery, means 100,000 images in Tibetan, is the town's foremost attraction, The 35m-high chorten (stupa) with its white layers trimmed with decorative stripes and its crown-like golden dome, is awe-inspiring. You can visit every chambers in the monastery.
Day 9Shigatse to Lhasa(B)
We spend about 4 hours to drive back to Lhasa from Shigatse, on the way, we will visit the largest Monastery in west Tibet, the Tashilunpo monastery, as the last but famous historic sites for your Tibet tour. Tashilunpo monastery is one of the the six great Gelukpa institutions and was founded in 1447 by a disciple of Tsongkapa, Genden drup who was first dalai lama. Jamkhang Chenmo, containing the world's largest gilded copper image(26m high) of future god Jampa.Drive along the Friend-ship Highway back to Lhasa.Overnight in Lhasa.
Day 10: Depart Lhasa (B)
Send you to Lhasa airport or train station. Your wonderful Beijing and Tibet tour ends.
