Shenzhen Baoan International Airport

Situated in the coastal plain of the east bank of Pearl River Estuary, It is 32 kilometers from Shenzhen city center, occupies an area of 10.8 square kilometers, with an 3400 meters long and 45 meters wide runway, and 53 parking spaces. Large passenger and cargo airplanes enjoy the vast plain here. The flying area is of 4E grade. The Airport provides 24-hour service

Shenzhen Baoan International Airport is the first modern international airport adopting the transit transportation by sea, land and air in China. In terms of ground transportation, Shenzhen Baoan International Airport connects Guang-Shen Expressway, Jihe Expressway and national highway 107 connects Hong Kong, Macao, Guangzhou, Dongguan, Huizhou, Zhongshan and Zhuhai. In terms of marine transportation, Hong Kong, Macao and Zhuhai are connected by hovercraft. In terms of air transportation, Hong Kong and Macao are connected by helicopter.

Shenzhen Baoan International Airport enjoys rich passenger and cargo resources as well as the first class hardware and software in one of three central belts with most rapid development of economy in China, the Pearl River Delta.

The airport was opened on 12 October 1991. According to Civil Aviation Administration of China, it handled 21,400,509 passengers in 2008, which making itself the fifth busiest in China. The airport was also the 4th busiest airport in terms of cargo traffic, registering 616,172 tones of freight.
