Lijiang Transportation

By Air
Lijiang Airport (LJG) is situated about 17.4 miles (28 km) to the south of Lijiang City. At present, flights using Lijiang Airport connect Lijiang with many cities, such as Kunming, Xishuangbanna, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shenzhen and Guiyang. However, most visitors prefer to fly to Kunming first, and then get to Lijiang by air or by long-distance bus.

By Bus
Lijiang has set up a relatively complete highway system extending in all directions. There are four bus stations in Lijiang: Lijiang Transport Service Center Bus Station, Lijiang Tourism Bus Station, Lijiang Express Bus Station, and Lijiang Guluwan Bus Station. They run buses to Kunming, Dali, Shangri-La, Daju, Xiaguan, Tiger Leaping Gorge, Lugu Lake, and Panzhihua.

City Transportation:
No vehicles are allowed to enter the ancient town. All taxis and buses are in the new city area.
