Luhuitou Peninsula, Sanya

The Luhuitou Peninsula is situated about 5 km south of Sanya City in Hainan Province and it is called as the Lovers' Mountain. There has a hill extending in the shape of an enthralling deer looking back. Luhuitou Hill, at an altitude of about 280 meters (918 feet), is the main peak of Luhuitou Peninsula. It is the best angle for sunrise and sunset as well as the unique place for the entire sight of the beautiful Sayan city. There is a story about this hill.

The legend goes that once upon a time, there was a young hunter pursued a deer and chased it into bay on a cliff above the sea. When the man got his bow ready to shoot, suddenly there rise up a flash of fire, after a gust of smog the deer turned round and turned into a beautiful and enchanting girl. The girl and the young man fell in love and married to form a happy family. Hence the hill, the peninsula and the village are all named Luhuitou.

The Luhuitou Park is built on this peninsula, where the tourists, most of whom are the couples in deep love with each other or the people who want to find the true love here, spend their romantic tour.
