Hainan Nanshan Temple |
Located 40 kilometers west of Sanya City, Hainan Province, the Nanshan Temple ranks as one of the famous attractions in the Nanshan Culture Tourism Zone. It occupies an area of 66 acres on a mountain over 500 meters tall. Featuring the architecture style of the booming period of Tang Dynasty, it is the largest Buddhist temple established since the founding of the People's Republic of China.
The Nanshan Temple has great views of the mountains and hills to its east and west and the Nanhai Sea to the south. A gathering of rich, traditional Chinese Buddhism Culture, Nanshan Temple consists of the Hall of Renwang, the Grand Hall, the East and West Side Halls, Bell and Drum Towers, the Hall of Rotatable Sutra Shelf, Dharma Hall, Guanyin Temple and Hiden-in. Visitors can also see the Lotus Pool and Guanyin on the Sea. |
