Guilin Jiucun Mosque |
Jiucun Mosque is located in south of Guilin and is 25 kilometers from the downtown area. The Mosque was built in early Ming dynasty and is one of the oldest mosques in Guangxi. The Mosque covers an area of about 2 acres. The main hall is grand and graceful with nearly 30 rooms. There both have three rooms in North and South. The middle patio is capacious and clean, towering old trees, filled with flowers. During the Ming and Qing Dynasty many Muslims in Guangxi settled in Jiucun village. The people live around the Mosque. They worked hard and had a happy life. But after a succession of people move out of the village, the Mosque has been fading. Now the Mosque has a congregation of about 400 people and they all are Hui nationality.
