 North Guangji St Mosque (Masjid)
The North Guangji St Mosque is located in the middle of North Guangji Street in Xian. It was first built in the late of Ming Dynasty(1368-1644) and was rebuilt in Qing Dynasty(1644-1911). The mosque was constructed in accordance with the popular traditional way of Chinese architecture. and it covers an area of 2,000 square meters with a constructed area less than 1,000 square meters. Especially the axis of the architecture is not according to the architectural layout, but set the direction based on local buildings.
Major constructions The Prayer Hall is 12 meters high and 13 meters wide. It is made up by the Juanpeng, middle hall and the back hall. The scale is so grand and magnificent. The Bunker Building is a double hexagon shape with 13 meters high. And it is a kind of rare brick-wood style loft in China. Now, the Bunker building is an existing treasure of the ancient architecture in Xian. There are also other constructions in The North Guangji St Mosque., such as South and North Pavilions and Bath House. Architectural feature of the temple is make full use of steps to show solemn and dignified of the hall. The deep color of the building, delicate brick, stone carving and wood carving add mystery and cultural tastes for the ancient temple.
