Located about 32 km in the northeast of Longsheng county, 110 km northwest of Guilin city, Longsheng Hot Springs, surrounded by green mountains, is an ideal summer resort, a place for convalescence, a health-building center and a tourist attraction, with fresh air and pure water- cool in summer and warm in winter.
These springs can spout over 1,200 meters from underground with water temperatures ranging from 45C to 58C. Experts have determined that the waters contain various elements including zinc, manganese, lithium, strontium and iron that are beneficial to health. Bathing in the springs is not only healthful, but can reputedly alleviate diseases such as cardiopathy and rheumatism as well as certain skin conditions. Unlike other hot springs, the water here is so pure and limpid that it can be drunk directly from the source. It is no wonder that Longsheng is the most famous hot springs in south China.
Longsheng Hot Springs, well-known as "a heaven of peace and happiness" and a "paradise on earth". Welling out from cracks in the rocks halfway up the mountain, the hot spring water is colorless, tasteless, pure and clear. About 54-58 C, it consists of many trace elements including lithium, strontium, iron, manganese, zinc, copper and others. The water is suitable for drinking and bathing. It also has curative effects on nerves, skin diseases, rheumatism, and arthritis. Since the Longsheng Hot Springs are situated in a deep tranquil valley, surrounded by mountains of dense vegetation, it is warm in the winter and cool in the summer there.
