Langde Miao Ethnic Minority Village |
Langde Miao Ethnic Minority Village is located in Baode Village of Leishan County of Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, 29 kilometers away from Kaili City and 50 kilometers from the Leigongshan Nature Reserve. It is the key village of ethnic minority folk tourism in Guizhou Province. You can find Miao people everywhere in south-west China especially in Guizhou Province but this is the best place if you really want to experience the authentic ethnic cultures of Miao Minority.
The people from Langde Miao Ethnic Minority Village wear long skirts; hence they are "Long Skirt Miao". Regarding dress, there are Long Skirt Miao, Short Skirt Miao, Black Miao, Flowery Miao and Long Horned Miao. Around 500 villagers in ten families, the Langde Miao Village is considered small. Members of the Miao Ethnic Minority, they adopt common habits and customs. In this village, you can not only appreciate the unique architectures-Diaojiaolou, but also you can appreciate the traditional way-blocking songs as well as the traditional Lusheng Dancing. Entering the village, visitors would find themselves literarily immersed in works of art.
There are many festivals in the village besides the traditional festivals, for example: the Miao New Year, Dragon Lantern Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Lusheng Performance, Sisters' Meal Festival and the New Rice Eating Festival, among which the Miao New Year is the most ceremonial and splendid. |
