Old style complex community - Hu-guang Assembly Architectural Museum
Chongqing Hu-guang assembly Architectural Museum is the largest ever known ancient style immigration complex community in a modern city's downtown. Established in the 24th Qianlong year of the Qing Dynasty (759), the architectural complex was expanded in 26th Daoduang year, covering a total area of 8561 square meters. Built at the food of the mountain, the complex was arranged row upon row and boasted of its proper organization and imposing manner. It composed of three parts: the outer gate of the temple, the hall and the theatre yard. With its unique architectural style, it was regarded as a splendid spectacle of Chongqing during the period between the end of Ming and the beginning of Qing Dynasty.
In 2003, Chongqing municipal government started a renovation project on this ancient architectural complex and was completed on September 2005. The newly restored museum consists of Yuwang Temple, council hall of Guangdong, council hall of Qi'an, as well as the newly built Huaguang emigrant museum. Covering an area of 12870 square meters and floor area of 7633.58 square meters, it's grandeur and glittering.
