The ancient atmospheric town allures the visitors from all over the world because its long-standing history, outstanding Buddhist art and breath taking view. Gyantse fortress (dzong) destroyed by the British army in 1904 but the ruins still remain there proudly. The Pacho Monastery is one of the best preserved which dates back to 15th centliry.lt contains a lot of antiques. Kumnbum Stupa is the largest in Tibet, built also in 15th century by the Nepalese Newari craftsmen, is entitled as "the museum of 100.000 statues".
