Yuexiu Park, the largest in Guangzhou, is named after Yuexiu Mountain in the park. It covers a total area of 60,000 square meters and includes three man-made lakes and seven hills.
Yuexiu Park is celebrated for its beautiful scenery and numerous relics. The major scenic spots and historical sites includes Haiyun Pavilion, Guangfu Memorial Pavilion, Zhenhai tower, Ming Dynasty city-wall relic, Square Fort, Stone Memorial Archway, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Stele, Yuexiu Tower relic and Five Rams Statue. With hills and lakes, the water area of the park reaches over 50,000 square meters. Three man-made lakes Beixiu, Dongxiu and Nanxiu are very beautiful. Dongxiu and Nanxiu Lakes are good places for painting and sketching. Beixiu Lake, surrounded by green trees, is perfect for boating and fishing.
Furthermore, Yuexiu Mountain Stadium with a capacity of over 80,000 and Yuexiu Swimming Pool of international games standard, Jinyin Amusement Park, Flower Hall and the Guangzhou Museum of Art are also located in the park.
