Xianyang Museum is located at the center of the ancient city, Zhongshan Street. Once was the Xianyang Confucian Temple built in Ming Dynasty, it changed into a museum in 1962. Xianyang was the capital of the Qin dynasty, also concentrated with the Han Tombs. So artifacts in Xianyang Museum are mainly from the Qin and Han dynasties. The 3000 painted Terracotta Warriors and Horses of the Western Han Dynasty are the most well-known. The Museum building has an area of 3855 square meters, displaying an area of 1216 square meters.

Xianyang Museum is a comprehensive regional museum. It has seven existing showrooms, including three showroom of Qin Xianyang historical relics, one heritage gallery of Western Han Dynasty Mausoleum and two showrooms with 3000 painted Terracotta Warriors and Horses of the Western Han Dynasty.

Xianyang Museum has nearly 20,000 pieces of cultural relics from Zhou, Qin, Han and Tang dynasties, including bronze, iron, pottery, porcelain, stone carving, calligraphy, jade and so on. The first showroom displays Neolithic stone axes, ceramic bottles and bronze weapons such as copper spears, sword, halberd. The second showroom mainly displays relics excavated from Xianyang palace sites.
