Chengdu Jinsha Ruins

The Chengdu Jinsha Ruins located in the western suburbs of Chengdu, Sichuan Province, is widemy believed to have been the capital of the Shu Kingdom near 3,000 years ago. It used to be known to very few people. But a major archaeological discovery is putting it in the limelight nationwide.

the Jinsha Ruins were discovered by builders from a local real estate development firm were working at a construction site in Jinsha Village. After some burial grounds and sacrifice emplacements were recently discovered, the outlines of the cemetery, living areas, palace remains and sacrifice grounds are revealed soon.

Lying only 50 kilometers away from the famed Sanxingdui, Many of the relics from Jinsha Ruins bear strong resemblance to those at Sanxingdui. For example, a gold mask and a bronze statue of a standing person might immediately remind visitors of the bronze masks and big bronze statues at Sanxingdui because of their similarity in style. So far, artifacts made from ivory, jade, bronze, gold and stone have been found at the site.
