Du Fu's Cottage is located in the river bank of Chengdu, Sichuan Province. It is the great Chinese Tang Dynasty realistic poet Du Fu's home. It was a thatched cottage when Du Fu was living there, but in later several dynasty , it was rebuilt and enlarged many times and finally it becomes a famous culture resort: a memorial of Du Fu, an elegant architectural museum, and also a large beautiful garden.
In 1961, Du Fu's Cottage was announced "the first batch of key national heritage conservation units" by the State Council, in 1985, the Du Fu's Thatched Cottage Museum was established, in December , 2006, be chosen as the national 4A-class tourist attractions by the National Tourism Administration, in 2008, chose as the first museum at the national level by State Administration of Cultural Heritage. Chengdu Du Fu Thatched Cottage Museum is the largest, best preserved and most featured and well-known existing whereabouts and remains Du Fu.
Cottage retains complete reconstruction pattern at the time of the Qing Dynasty, with a total area of nearly 300 acres. Garden is a very unique "hybrid" Chinese classical gardens.
