Huangdi Mausoleum is located on the top of Qiao Mountain in Huangling County, Shaanxi Province, 162km south of Yan'an and 165km north of Xian, with the direct expressway available. Huangdi is the first humanistic ancestor to create civilization and lay the foundation of Chinese nationality. The Mausoleum was designated by the State Council as one of China's foremost protected monuments in 1961. It is also the No.1 ancient tomb; one of the first national famous scenic sites; one of the first national bases of education in patriotism and also as a national "AAAAA" tourist attraction.
As the home of Scarified culture of Huangdi, sacrificial ceremony in Huangdi Mausoleum has been designated as the intangible cultural heritage. The sacrificial activities have been lasting for thousands of years.
