Day 1 Arrive in Guiyang (/)
Arrive in Guiyang, you will be met and welcomed by the guide. Guizhou is a mountainous province with its west part more hilly and the eastern and southern portions relatively flat. After dinner you can visit the Hequn Night Market and here you can taste the most popular and spicy food.
Day 2 Guiyang-Anshun (157km, 2.5hr)-Guiyang (B, L)
Today you will be transferred to Anshun and visit Huangguoshu Waterfall and Dragon Palace. The Huangguoshu Waterfal is the largest waterfall in Asia and it is about 77.8 meters high and 101 meters wide. Then you will continue to visit the Dragon Palace. It is a magnificent underground cave system with lakes, waterfalls and stalactites, covering an area almost 60 square kilometers. Because the main cave looks like the crystal palace where the dragon king lives, it is known as Dragon Palace Cave.
Day 3 Guiyang-Kaili (220km, 2.5hr) (B, L)
In the morning, you will take about 2 hours driving to Kaili. On arrival, you will pay a visit to the Kaili Museum. It will leave you an overall view of the ethnic costume in Guizhou. Then you will visit the Gejia minority village-Matang. Here you can learn about their culture. You will see the typical costumes, houses, embroidery and batik making.
Day 4 Kaili-Leishan (65km, 1hr)-Kaili (B, L)
You will leave Kaili in the morning to visit the village of Langde, a quiet little Miao Village village with traditional wooden houses and waterwheels. After lunch we will continue our journey to Datang, a Miao village with an aquatic granary and the women's "Mini skirt". Then we visit Paika Miao village, which is known more about Lusheng-the Miao people's most important musical instrument.
Day 5 Kaili-Rongjiang (204km, 5.5hr) (B, L)
Today you will drive from Kaili to Rongjiang and visit the beautiful Chejiang Dong Village and the cluster of old Banyan tree on the way. The Dong ethic group is regarded as the talented architects in China, you will see the drum towers and Wind and Rain Bridges in every Dong village, which are pavilions for sheltering people during bad weather.
Day 6 Ronjiang-Congjiang (76km, 2hr) (B, L)
On our way to Congjiang, we will stop to visit Judong, a Dong village built on the other side of the river with its beautiful landscape. Drive on to visit Basha, a small Miao village with few signs of modern influence. The people rarely venture out of the village except for selling firewood and shopping for daily necessities in markets, and both men and women can be seen in traditional costumes, wearing their hair long.
Day 7 Conjiang-Zhaoxing (90km, 3hr) (B, L)
A 3-hour drive will take us to Zhaoxing, one of the largest Dong villages in the region, with more than 700 households and a population of 4000. After dinner, we will be entertained by the Dong people's welcome ceremony (singing and dancing included) right beneath the Dong's Drum Tower after dinner.
Day 8 Zhaoxing-Sanjiang (110km, 5hr)(B, L)
From Zhaoxing we will continue our journey south into Guangxi Province. Sanjiang in Guangxi province is a county inhabited by the South Dong, one of the two subgroups of the Dong ethnic minority. A short drive away from Sanjiang will take us to Chengyang, a quaint little village with one of the largest Fengyuqiao (Wind and Rain Bridges) in the region. Here we will explore the villages on foot, visiting lively markets and hillside farms.
Day 9 Sanjiang-Longsheng (80km, 2.5hr)-Guilin (160km, 2hr) (B, L)
In the morning, drive to Longsheng. The fields are called Longji Rice Terraces, which were built in 800 years ago by the Zhuang and Yao people. The terraces are beautiful-a real photographer's dream and an amazing feat of farming. Thousands of acres, inaccessible by mechanical tools, have to be tilled and cared for by hand. You will be transferred to Guilin in the afternoon and the rest of the day will be free for yoursef.
Day 10 Guilin
