Seismic records have been recorded more than 24 felt earthquakes Grade 3 in Guangzhou. Among which 15 times are between grade 3-3.5, 7 times between grade 4-4.5, 1 time grade 4.75 and 1 time grade 5-5.5.

China Earthquake Networks reports that, at 11:34 on February 22, 2013, a 4.8 earthquake occurred in Heyuan City, Dongyuan County, Guangdong Province (23.9 degrees north latitude, 114.5 degrees east longitude), the focal depth of 11 km. The tremor was felt obvious in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Panyu.

According to the China earthquake measuring network report, an earthquake occurred on February 16, 2012 02:34 Beijing time in Heyuan City, Dongyuan County, Guangdong Province (latitude 24.0 north, longitude 114.5). 4.8 earthquake occurred 13 km focal depth. The epicentral distance of the the Dongyuan county about 34 kilometers, approximately 34 kilometers from the Heyuan City, about 160 kilometers from Guangzhou city. It is said that the city of Heyuan, Dongguan, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Meizhou felt the earthquake.
According to an risk assessment of earthquake disaster in 30 provincial cities from scientists, Guangzhou rows in the 25th. And the UERDI of Jiangmen is more than 0.25 with a large risk.
