Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport
Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is situated in the northern Renhe Town, Baiyun District. It is now the largest, best equipped and most modernized civil air terminal in China. It is about 28 kilometers (17.4 miles) away from downtown of Guangzhou, covers an area of 15 square kilometers (about 5.8 square miles), including a 4E standard flight area, two runways and a terminal of 320 thousands square meters (about 79 acres). It has a flow volume of about 25 millions passengers per year and serves 24 hours a day. Its air routes from Guangzhou to over 100 domestic and international cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Kunming, Chongqing, Haikou, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Guiyang, Ningbo and Lianyungang, etc. The direct international flights are to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Osaka, Seoul, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Tokyo, Jakarta, Taipei, Hong Kong, Sydney, Amsterdam, Frankfort and Paris, etc.
Airport Transportation
Ground transportation such as airport shuttle bus, airport intercity bus and taxi in Baiyun Airport is very convenient. By the end of 2009, the airport subway line under constructing will be put into service.
Terminal Building Guide
With an area of about 370 thousand square meters (about 914 acres), the Terminal Building of the Baiyun Airport is four-storied, including the Main Building, Connection Building, terminal concourses and elevated passages. The third floor is the Departures Hall; the second floor is the Arrivals Interlayer; the first floor is the Arrivals Hall; and the minus-one floor leads to the subway station and the parking lot. The Departure Hall on the third floor has eight entrances/ exits. Taxis and Airport Shuttle Bus can stop on the doorway of the Departure Hall. Entering the No. 4 Gate of the Departure Hall, you can see a big electronic screen, on which you can see the flight information.
Airport hotel
There is a five-star hotel managed by Accor, a French hotel management group located beside the airport terminal. It offers 460 guestrooms, an Executive Lounge and conference facilities with Wi-Fi access throughout.
Facilities and Services Business Center offers long distance phone calls, photo copying and fax services. There are two parking lots, one post office, banks, Foreign Currency Exchange, medical room, rooms for mothers and infants, as well as smoking rooms.
The Baiyun Airport provides wireless Internet access service. As long as you have a laptop and a Wireless LAN Card, you can surf the net freely. The food in the nearby restaurants is tasty but not expensive. Also many cafes can be seen there. There are also many grocery stores in the Terminal Building.
