Fuxing Gongyuan Park

Fuxing Park, one of the must-see sights in Shanghai, is located in the former French Concession, near Nanchang Road. The park was designed in the French style, with a center lake, fountains, covered pavilions, and flowerbeds.

The park was originally named Gu's Park. More than 80 years ago, it was a piece of fertile farmland, inhabited by hard-working farmers. At that time, a man named Gu constructed a private small garden. That was the first prototype of the park. During the French occupation period, it became a military encampment. After the French, the Japanese renamed the park "Daxing Park." Finally, in the mid 20th century, the Chinese regained control of the park land and dubbed it "Fuxing Park."

As the city's only French-style park, a large number of flowers and trees had been added, including a total of 140 kinds of shrubs, towering Platanus, as well as Aesculus, linden, Liquidambar and other valuable trees. The flower blanket is located in middle of the Park. Throughout the year , a variety of colored flowers with the pattern of carpet pattern. In addition, color fountains among them forms a special scene.
