Guangzhou's highway system is also well developed. The region's sprawling road can take visitors to the whole country. There is also good water transportation system in which the Huangpu Port is a very important large port in Southern China.

Guangzhou Air Transportation, Guangzhou Civil Aviation
Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is about 28 kilometers from the city center of Guangzhou. And there are specific airport highways from the urban areas to the airport. It is one of the three busiest air transportation hubs in China. There are totally 123 scheduled flights in the airport, and 86 of them are domestic flights between Guangzhou and major Chinese cities like Beijing, Shanghai and Xian. Major cities worldwide can be reached in 15 hours from Guangzhou. The airport's flight network covers South and Southeast Asian countries including Vietnam, Laos, Burma, India, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. In addition, there are flights to Los Angeles, Paris, Amsterdam, Melbourne, Sydney, Tokyo, Seoul and Lagos.

Guangzhou Baiyun Airport boasts very convenient ground transportation system. This system is mainly made up of taxis, six airport express bus lines (Line1, Line2A, Line2B, Line3, Line4 and Line11), nine airport shuttle bus lines (Line5, Line6A, Line6B, Line7A, Line7B, Line8A, Line8B, Line9 and Line10), and frequent airport intercity bus between Guangzhou and other cities in Guangdong Privince. Additionally, the aiport subway line is under construction. By September of 2010, it will be in operation.

Guangzhou Train Transportation, Guangzhou Railway Transportation
Guangzhou is the Guangzhou-Shenzhen, Guangzhou starting point of the three railway, Beijing-Guangzhou railway in the end, the main trunk railway of North-south China. There are three railway stations for passenger transport. Guangzhou Railway Station at Huanshi Road is the largest and the most important one, operating trains between Guangzhou and Beijing, Wuhan, Nanjing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Xian, Lhasa and many other China cities. Guangzhou East Railway Station (Tianhe Railway Station) mainly provides through trains from Guangzhou to Hong Kong and frequent bullet trains between Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Guangzhou North Railway Station in Huadu District is a small station mainly operates bullet trains between Guangzhou and Wuhan.
National Road, Guangzhou Land Transportation
The road transport network is also well developed in Guangzhou. There are quite a lot intercity express buses arrive and depart from the Guangzhou General Bus Station, also called Guangzhou Long Distance Bus Station. The highway network in China is good. But few foreigners take intercity bus to come to Guangzhou.
Guangzhou is located in the Pearl River estuary and maritime transport is well developed. there are multi-class ferries daily between Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta country. Guangzhou is one of the top ten famous port cities in China. Guangzhou Port is made up of Humen Port, Xinsha Port, Huangpu Port and many other inner ports. The ship routes lead to more than 100 domestic ports and over 300 foreign ports. Some ports of Guangzhou provide passenger transport service. Panyu Lianhuashan Port provides high speed passenger liners between Guangzhou and Hong Kong every day. Huangpu Port offers ships to Xiuying Port, Haikou.
